Easy Does It

When one begins to shift the internal workings of the brain to a healthier place, care is needed. Some people are highly sensitive to neurofeedback, while others experience change more slowly.

In either case, working with a trained therapist whose philosophy is to collaborate with you will assure the best outcome for you. One need not allow their therapist to charge ahead with a heavy foot on the accelerator. An easy roll towards healthy functioning will usually do the trick!

   Philosophy of Practice

As the picture to the left suggests, there are many different roads one can take in life. The same is true in running a clinical psychology practice. Below you will find some basic guiding principles I use in both my neurofeedback practice and my regular psychotherapy practice.

  • Your questions are important, and deserve answers.
  • Neurotherapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. We set goals as a team and work together to make them happen.
  • It's my responsibility to keep up with the latest information in my field (especially one that changes as rapidly as neurofeedback) and to be active in professional organizations applicable to my field. I consult with others when I have questions to make sure my clients get the best treatment available.
  • I will only take cases I where I can reasonably expect a successful outcome. If I feel that you would be better served by a different clinician who has a specialized emphasis I will discuss the matter with you and refer you to a different therapist who can help.
  • It's okay to have fun during treatment! Therapy can have lots of fun moments.
